Alloy Wheels to Ireland and the EU With No Import Charges
Short answer: we ship from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland. Because Northern Ireland sits inside both the UK internal market and the EU single market for goods, wheels sent from us to the Republic of Ireland or mainland Europe do not attract EU import duty, import VAT at the border, or a courier customs handling fee. Order the same wheels from a seller in England, Scotland or Wales and all three usually apply.
If you are in Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark or anywhere else in the EU and you have been quoted a good price on alloy wheels from a UK seller, the price you were quoted is probably not the price you will pay. Here is what actually happens, and why our address matters.
What do you normally pay importing wheels from Great Britain?
Three separate charges stack on top of the wheel price when goods cross from Great Britain into the EU:
| Charge | From Great Britain | From us in Northern Ireland |
|---|---|---|
| EU customs duty on alloy wheels | Applies | None |
| Import VAT collected at the border | Applies, at your country's rate | None |
| Courier customs clearance fee | Typically charged per parcel | None |
| Parcel held pending payment | Common, adds days | No, goods move freely |
The third and fourth rows are the ones that annoy people most. A set of four wheels split across multiple parcels can pick up a clearance fee on each one, and the courier will not release any of them until it is paid. We have had customers come to us after a competitor's set sat in a depot for a fortnight.
Why is Northern Ireland different?
Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, but under the post-Brexit arrangements for Northern Ireland it also remains aligned with EU single market rules for goods. In practice that means goods in free circulation here move into the Republic of Ireland and onward into the EU without a customs frontier, while still moving freely into Great Britain.
It is a genuine quirk of geography and we are not shy about using it. A customer in Dublin or Dortmund gets EU-internal treatment; a customer in Birmingham gets UK-internal treatment. We are one of very few alloy wheel suppliers who can say that honestly.
We are not tax advisers, and your own VAT position depends on whether you are buying as a consumer or a VAT-registered business. If you are a business and you need the paperwork a particular way, tell us before you order and we will sort it.
Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
We ship across the UK, the Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe. Delivery times and current carriage rates are set out on our delivery FAQs page, which is the page we keep up to date — rather than quoting figures here that may be out of date by the time you read this.
Wheels go out on pallets or individually boxed depending on quantity, with forklift access available at our end. If you are ordering a large quantity into Europe, email us first and we will quote the freight properly rather than letting the cart guess.
Can I buy a single wheel?
Yes, and this is worth knowing because most suppliers will not do it. Every wheel on our site is priced per wheel rather than per set. If you have kerbed one or buckled one on a pothole, you can buy exactly one, in the matching design and size.
Our single wheel replacement range covers the common designs and fitments. Email us the make and model and a photo of the wheel and we will identify it.
Are you a trade supplier as well?
Yes. We supply garages, tyre shops, dealerships, body shops and resellers across the UK, Ireland and Europe, and have done since 2021. Trade pricing is per size rather than per design, which keeps it simple, and it applies across the whole OEM-style range regardless of which car the design suits.
Approved trade accounts get a login to the portal with stock visibility and trade pricing, and can order by email or WhatsApp. The details are on our trade and wholesale accounts page.
For a first order with a new trade customer we are happy to start with a single set so you can check the quality and the packaging before committing to a pallet. We do not use escrow — we are a registered limited company with an established European customer base, and payment is in full before dispatch.
How do I know the wheels will fit?
Send us the make, model and year. For cars registered outside the UK, send make and model rather than the registration — we cannot look up foreign number plates from here, so a plate will only slow us down.
Our bolt pattern and centre bore reference covers the common fitments if you would rather check yourself. Spigot rings are included free with every set where they are needed.
What do you actually stock?
- Every alloy wheel we hold — 2,857 listings, 17 to 23 inch, filterable by size, fitment and finish.
- 5x112 — 1,716 wheels. Audi, VW, Mercedes, Skoda, SEAT.
- 5x120 — 320 wheels, load rated for VW Transporter and Range Rover.
- 5x108 — 202 wheels. Ford, Jaguar, Volvo, Evoque.
- Van wheels — correctly load rated for Transporter, Transit, Crafter and Sprinter.
All OEM-style wheels are aftermarket replacement wheels manufactured to suit the vehicles named. They are not manufactured by the vehicle makers and are not sold as genuine parts.
Questions we get asked
Will I pay customs charges on alloy wheels delivered to Ireland?
Not on an order from us. We ship from Northern Ireland, which remains aligned with EU single market rules for goods, so there is no EU customs duty, no import VAT collected at the border, and no courier clearance fee. Ordering the same wheels from a seller in England, Scotland or Wales normally means all three.
Do you deliver to mainland Europe?
Yes, across the EU. Current rates and transit times are on our delivery FAQs page. For larger orders email us and we will quote palletised freight directly rather than relying on the cart's estimate.
Can I buy just one alloy wheel?
Yes. Every wheel on the site is priced individually, not as a set of four, so a single replacement for a kerbed or buckled wheel is straightforward. Send a photo and your make and model and we will identify the design.
Do you offer trade or wholesale pricing?
Yes, to garages, tyre shops, dealerships and resellers across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Trade pricing is based on wheel size rather than design, and approved accounts get portal access with trade prices and stock levels.
