Most people searching for alloy wheels online end up buying from a GB-based retailer and either paying import charges if they are in Europe or getting a generic wheel with no fitment data. OMI Wheels is different on both counts, and it is worth explaining why, because it changes the value calculation significantly.
We ship from Northern Ireland. Here is what that means.
Under the Windsor Framework, Northern Ireland remains inside the EU single market for goods. A parcel from our warehouse in Enniskillen travels to France, Germany, Poland, Italy or anywhere in the EU as an internal delivery, not an import. That means your order arrives with no customs duty, no import VAT and no courier handling fee waiting for you at the door.
Every GB seller has to charge that. We do not. On a set of four wheels at £600, the difference can be £80 to £140 depending on your country. That is a real saving that changes who you should be buying from.
The certification question
Every wheel we sell is VIA and JWL tested. VIA is the German certification for impact and fatigue testing. JWL is the Japanese standard used by vehicle manufacturers worldwide. To carry both, a wheel has to pass impact tests at the rim, dynamic cornering fatigue tests and radial fatigue tests. A wheel that fails any of these does not carry the certification.
You would be surprised how many wheels sold online carry neither. We do not sell anything that has not been through independent testing.
The fitment data question
Most aftermarket wheel sellers list a bolt pattern and a diameter. That is not enough information to buy confidently. Every listing at OMI Wheels includes the bolt pattern, offset, centre bore, recommended tyre size, whether spigot rings are needed and which cars it fits.
More than that, every listing links to wheels of the same design in other sizes and finishes, so if the 19x8.5 in Black Machined does not work for your budget or your car, you can see the 18x8 in Silver in two clicks. No other UK retailer does this across a catalogue of 529 wheels.
